When an employee leaves your company, follow the offboarding procedure from the “Employees” page.

If the employee who is about to leave your company uses a Macbook, make sure it fits disconnected from his iCloud account before returning the computer to avoid it being stuck once back in your inventory (tutorial link).

If you choose to reset your equipment remotely, you must meet the following conditions for the request to be effective:

- The computer must be enrolled in MDM ;

- It must be on, plugged into the mains and connected to the Internet ;

- User session must be unlocked, especially if it's a MacBook whose hard drive is encrypted via FileVault.

Be patient: the reset request is not instant, you may have to wait a few moments. If the remote reset is still not started after a long time of waiting, make sure you have met the conditions mentioned above.

Once the reset is effective, the computer will be:

- reset (factory configuration)

- unenrolled from MDM

- always inventoried on the platform and attributed to the stock

💡 You don't want to reset & unenroll the equipment?

Option 1: If you use an MDM other than Miradore or no MDM

Simply go to the Employees page, check the box for the employee concerned and then click on the “Withdraw” button.

Any assigned equipment will then be put back into stock without resetting, and the employee in question will no longer be part of your employee list.

Option 2: If you use Miradore MDM

In this case, you can use a workaround: 🔗 tutorial link FR 🇫🇷 / EN 🇬🇧

Go to the Employees page, click on the number of devices assigned to an employee that you are going to offboard. From the drop-down menu for his equipment, select the stock account or another employee. You can then follow the offboarding process above.

⚠️ However, for security reasons, we recommend that you always reset the equipment before it changes owners.
