Lechaudron.io feedback: performing a migration on Windows Pro

Recently, Rzilient's team of IT experts accompanied LeChaudron.io, one of our client companies, to migrate their workstations from one version of Windows to another.
As always, we are sharing this feedback with you in order to show you the power of our solution and the importance we place on the customer experience at Rzilient.
The key: securing workstations, and saving time and money!
The context and details of the intervention
Let's first discover the context of migration and then its modus operandi in more detail.
The migration context
Lechaudron.io is a company that supports decision-makers and teams of private companies and the public sector who wish to (re) define a strategy and lead an organizational or cultural change, in a context of strong transitions.
In the Lechaudron.io team, the computer workstations were equipped with a version of Windows that did not allow the BitDefender antivirus to run, among others. Our team migrated to Windows Pro remotely.
The aim of the operation was to secure the team's computers. Indeed, our IT manager realized, during the installation of our remote management tool (MDM)) on the machines, that the latter had a version of Windows that did not allow the BitDefender anti-virus to be run, among others. The update was needed!
All of these operations were carried out remotely, with an average intervention time of about 20 minutes per station.
Details of the operations carried out
Concretely, our Service Desk teams contacted each employee of the client's team, in order to determine their availability and to synchronize the schedules with those of our IT expert.
During the intervention, our expert followed the following process:
● In the Windows configuration of the machine, he inserted a generic key as a license number, in order to disconnect the license associated with the old version of Windows.
● During the installation of Windows Pro, the real license key was then replaced, in order to allow for rapid migration.
This type of operation cannot be done in groups at this time.
Moreover, given that these are Windows licenses, this work is a manipulation requiring a good level of security and it is therefore important for our IT expert to be able to have 20 minutes of dedicated interaction with each employee, present at their workstation.
In fact, on a technical level, there are no particular difficulties. Our experts carry out this type of migration very frequently.
The challenge lies mainly on the organizational side, and not on the technical side: finding an available time slot with the user and synchronizing schedules is not always easy given the very busy schedules of our customers 🙂
Overall, about a week passed between the identification of the need to migrate the Windows version on the workstations and the effective completion of the migration.

The beneficial results of the migration for our client
Now let's see how our client Lechaudron.io, and its teams, benefitted from this migration.
Significant time and money savings for the customer
No need for an expert to travel on site and a period of immobilization of the machine and the employee of only 20 minutes.
These two advantages simply translate into a very satisfactory customer experience:
● By working remotely, we avoid expensive trips (representing a substantial saving for our customers), and we also give ourselves the possibility of scheduling appointments over longer time slots than in person.
● Thanks to the optimization of work beforehand, the intervention lasting only 20 minutes ensures that each employee is not disturbed more than the time of a slightly extended coffee break 🙂
Juliette Baudry at LeChaudron.io testifies:
“The platform allows us to be more efficient and faster in carrying out very time-consuming IT tasks, such as onboarding or hardware orders, and thus optimize our time and resources. We are really happy.”
At Rzilient, one of our goals is to Bring you the efficiency of a solution that allows you to focus on your core business !
Making machines compatible with Rzilient
Some versions of the most common operating systems are not compatible with professional software suites, such as Rzilient's outsourced IT management tool.
But when this simple (and quick) refresh is done, everything else is child's play.
Indeed, following the Windows migration carried out for Lechaudron.io, the installation of Rzilient on the workstations was done literally in a few minutes!
Securing workstations
Finally, at a time when cybersecurity is becoming a key issue for businesses, securing workstations is one of the effective ways to limit the risks of intrusion and hacking.
The simple fact of migrating to a version of Windows that makes it easier to install a powerful antivirus is a simple and effective action to implement.
