Our initiative to contribute to the restoration of ecosystems with PUR Projet

It is the last brick of a comprehensive climate strategy: you know it and we have already talked to you about it well. It's a word that starts with “c” and ends with “tion”... No, it's not the compensation, but the carbon contribution!

A quick reminder: a company cannot be carbon neutral at its level, which is why we reject the use of the term “compensation”, Which refers to a deceptive imaginary. On the other hand, a company can contribute to global carbon neutrality, and that is what we intend to do.

As part of our reflection on our low-carbon trajectory, we first measured our footprint through our collaboration with Sami, and we are now committed to reducing our emissions, both within and outside our value chain. The last step is thus to contribute to the increase of carbon sinks by financing sequestration projects. And that's what we're going to do through our collaboration with PUR Projet.

The Here We Sow campaign by PUR Projet

So who better than PUR Projet to contact to launch a carbon contribution initiative? A project developer, this company specializes in the design, implementation and monitoring of community agroforestry projects, including certified carbon projects, in various countries and producing communities. Since 2008, PUR Projet has developed more than 50 projects in more than 40 countries, planted 19 million trees and worked with 60,000 farmers. Since we are already working together and given our excellent relationships, we have made the choice to operate with them. (See our Press release)

In particular, we chose to participate in the financing of their campaign. Here we sow. A project for the regeneration of ecosystems at the scale of territories and agricultural sectors in France, Ici on Sème aims to bring together farmers, foresters, cooperatives and businesses in the preservation of biodiversity and the fight against climate change. All while creating sustainable agriculture and forest projects to transform these sectors in a responsible way. We decide to contribute to the implementation of their agroforestry projects for the requirements and the positive impact of this model.

We are proud to join the collective alongside committed companies such as Ynsect, TBS, or Malakoff Humanis. 💚

The carbon contribution of Rzilient and the Rzilient Club

For us, this partnership has a twofold objective. The first: to allow us to participate on our behalf in this carbon contribution project as part of our own low-carbon trajectory. The second, outside our value chain, to encourage our customers and partners to engage in the process to support the creation of carbon sinks and the regeneration of ecosystems in France by financing agroecology projects.

This project thus allows us to act at the level of the third pillar of Net Zero Initiative :

• C: Removing carbon from the atmosphere through sinks in and outside our value chain

Indeed, our products and services aim to support our partner companies in reducing their digital footprint by putting responsible and circular practices back at the center of their digital approach. That said, we are now working to enable them to finance reduction projects in order to have a more comprehensive approach, so that they can act on both levers to achieve global neutrality: reducing emissions and increasing sinks.

This project thus constitutes the last link in our climate commitment and now allows us to act on the two levers and three pillars of the NZI in parallel, allowing us to maximize our contribution to reducing emissions and increasing global sinks.

The objectives of this collaboration

In short, our goals for this collaboration are as follows:

• Participate on our behalf to finance the Ici on Sème project;
• Offer the possibility to our customers to perform a voluntary contribution to the project through us (of course, we cannot claim these contributions to the Project!) ;
• And so join the Collective of committed actors Ici On Sème who are helping to finance the increase of carbon sinks for farmers and foresters in France.

All in order to allow PUR Projet to use these contributions to implement the Ici on Sème program, and its tree planting on agroforestry plots located in France. We thus share the common objective of restore ecosystems and promote community resilience.

Since collective and rapid action to achieve this objective is necessary, join us in the financing of environmental projects that have an impact on territories and biodiversity! Get involved alongside us with a collective of passionate actors, as close as possible to the field. We have until June 2022 to collect the participations.
